Nomination deadline for AAMA Awards extended! Think about colleagues and AAMA members whom you admire for their exceptional contributions to our profession. The deadline for AAMA Healthcare Executive of the Year nominations has been extended until July 1. Distinguished Service Awards nomination deadline is July 1. Recipients will be honored during the 2010 AAMA Annual Conference, November 17-19, Clearwater, FL. Click here for complete details.
Leaders wanted: deadline is July 1 for Region I and III nominations: Are you interested in refining your leadership skills and playing an important role in the governance of your Academy? Do you know someone who is? Serving on the AAMA Board of Directors, the Regional Director position is the main communication link between Regional members and the Board of Directors, generally participating on key AAMA committees. Each Director position is for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2011. See list of states by Region. Nominate yourself or a colleague by submitting a 150-word statement for the ballot by July 1: via mail: Nominating Committee c/o AAMA Headquarters, 701 Lee Street, Suite 600, Des Plaines, IL 60016, fax: 847/759-8602 or email sue@aameda.org. You may also submit your nomination via our website.
Students, professors: turn that final paper in to AAMA for new Student Research Paper of the Year Award. The Award was established through the efforts of AAMA’s Executive Online Editorial Board. The Award will recognize a healthcare administration student who displays excellence and originality in healthcare administration research and writing. The winning student author will be announced in mid-August and will be recognized at the AAMA Annual Conference. The deadline is June 30. Check out eligibility and submission details.
AAMA Foundation announces scholarships for AAMA Annual Conference. Apply by September 10 for a scholarship that covers registration fees at AAMA’s Annual Conference, November 17-19, Clearwater Beach, FL. Click here for an application.
Attention AAMA/ACHPM members: ACHPM Board looking for leaders. ACHPM is looking for nominations from members to serve in the following ACHPM positions for a one-year term (minimum) beginning January 1, 2011: Education Committee Chair, Communications Committee Chair, Strategic Focus Committee Chair, Membership Committee Chair, and President Elect. • Take CAAMA exam on November 16, 1:00- 5:00 pm or November 19, 12:00-4:00 pm at the AAMA Annual Conference, Clearwater, FL, at a time/location convenient for you, or online. To schedule your exam see examination details or email education@aameda.org. Already credentialed by another healthcare association? You may not have to take the exam to earn a CAAMA. • Encourage colleagues to make the most of summer: earn CAAMA and join AAMA. Healthcare administrators are eligible to earn the prestigious CAAMA designation as soon as they join AAMA. Contact the Education Coordinator at education@aameda.org or 847/759-8601 for full details. Membership and exam combo offer is $400, a savings of $65. Exam fee entitles examinee three opportunities to pass the exam without additional fees. Offer is for membership through December 31, 2010.
• Keep your CAAMA earned or recredentialed in 2007. Recredential by December 31, 2010, and keep your AAMA membership up-to-date. Details available online or email education@aameda.org.
