Health First, Inc., bases in Melbourne Florida, has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in the recruitment efforts for a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Vice President of Patient Care Services (VP, PCS).

Founded in 1937, Health First, Inc., is a regional healthcare provider serving patients from Brevard, Martin, Indian River, and St. Lucie counties. With a combined total of 876 beds, Health First operates four facilities: Cape Canaveral Hospital, Holmes Regional Medical Center, Palm Bay Hospital, and Viera Hospital. Services include outpatient centers; the county’s only trauma center; home care; specialized programs for cancer, diabetes, heart, stroke, and rehabilitative services, central Brevard’s largest medical group, and four fitness centers. The CNO and Vice President of Patient Care Services will report to the Chief Operating Officer of the system. The CNO & VP, PCS establishes and implements the vision and direction of patient care services across the System and oversees the day-to-day operations of patient care services at Holmes Regional Medical Center. The CNO has the ultimate leadership responsibility for planning, organizing, directing and evaluating quality patient care.

The CNO and VP, PCS will be expected to accomplish several goals and objectives including: bringing a national perspective of nursing and patient care services to Health First, expand the “systemness” of patient care across Health First, and expand organizational leadership opportunities for members of the patient care leadership team and staff.

An ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in nursing and a graduate degree in nursing, business, or a related field. He/She will have ten or more years of experience and a progressive hospital and multi-facility systems. Additionally, he/she should be able to demonstrate experience managing all aspects of patient care services and leading measurable improvements in the quality of care.
