Why Should You Earn AAMA Credentials?

Examination-Based Credentials

Examination-based credentials (CAAMA) are earned by passing an examination based on a specified Body of Knowledge in healthcare administration, as defined by AAMA. The CAAMA designation is maintained by recredentialing every three (3) years.

Earn the CAAMA credential (Credentialed by the American Academy of Medical Administrators)

Experience-Based Credentials

Experience-based credentials (FAAMA, FACCA, FACCP, FACNA and Diplomate) are earned by demonstration of professional development, service and experience in healthcare administration through one of the following paths

  • Original fellowship thesis of graduate school quality
  • Three case studies
  • Documentation of formal education, continuing education, organizational and professional service

Advance to FELLOW of the Academy
This is your opportunity as a member to demonstrate your voluntary commitment to our profession. Through education and research or participation, Academy members are recognized as Fellows and attain a level of recognized prominence in the healthcare field. 

Advance to ACCA Fellow
Members of the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators may be eligible for ACCA Fellow status (FACCA). Attain a level of verified prominence in the field of cardiovascular administration through education, participation and experience.

Advance to ACCP Fellow
Members of the American College of Contingency Planners may be eligible for ACCP Fellow status (FACCP). Attain a level of verified prominence in the field of contingency planning through education, participation and experience.

Advance to ACNA Fellow
Members of the American College of Neuroscience Administrators may be eligible for ACNA Fellow status (FACNA). Attain a level of verified prominence in the field of neuroscience administration through education, participation and experience.

Achieve DIPLOMATE status
Diplomate status is available only to AAMA Fellows. This is not an award or membership category, but a status. The title of Diplomate is bestowed to indicate achievement of true excellence within healthcare administration.
